Online poker market has experienced a huge earthquake with epicenter in New Yourk court which gave a permission to arrest the domain of 4 online poker rooms - Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars Absolute Poker and UltimateBet. That happened in April 15th, 2011. The owners of these rooms were accused of money laundry and illegal actions with banks. Serious charges has resulted the blocking american players to access the funds.
Usually earthquakes do not go alone. Soon after one big earthquake follows another one - May 22, 2011 the Maryland officials seized another 10 US based gambling companies domais. The online poker market in US has been finaly devastated.
After the earthquake usually cunami is coming. This time cunami will reach the European gambling companies and players, but will not devastate them, but in contrary, increase the usage. When Pokerstars and FullTilt have some serious problems, biggest EU based poker room and gaming company PartyPoker is definitely glad as competitors are down.
Anyway, we will see the real impact and harm to online poker market in a few months. So far there are more unanswered questions and instability in this high profit gambling business.
